History of The Belle

The Belle Of Hot Springs is an Historic Inn located in the small mountain Town of Hot Springs right on the Appalachian Trail. The Belle was built in 1924 as a residential home to house the young women who attended the Dorland-Bell School For Girls which is now the esteemed Warren Wilson College. There are several other Dorland-Bell properties in Hot Springs and they are also part of the history of this quaint mountain town. I feel very fortunate to have such a gem and look forward to sharing my home with you.

The Belle has four upstairs bedrooms, three are offered for nightly lodging while the Innkeeper lives in the fourth. Since the home was built as a residence to house students, two of the bedrooms are quite large and they have a nice place for two people to enjoy the comfortable seating space. Each of the rooms have three large windows so there is wonderful natural light and views of the surrounding mountains and the downtown area. During the renovation process I have been careful to keep The Belle as original as possible in every way. Each room has a ceiling fan and an air conditioner with a remote control. Included in your nightly rate is our continental breakfast which is served in the dining room each morning with good coffee, locally made pastries, yogurt & fruit. One of the best features of The Belle is that you can walk to everything in town – restaurants, shopping, The Hot Springs Resort & Spa, local hiking trails and the French Broad River.
